Privacy policy

What we collect

Academic CV Grader stores the email and password hash you register with, credit balances, and the CV text we extract in order to produce a grade. Uploads are user content. They are stored privately on the account that submitted them. We do not sell CVs.

Training and models

CVs are not used for model training by default. The v1 scoring engine is a local, rule-based rubric. Optional LLM enhancement is off unless you explicitly enable it with an API key, and even then this product does not opt you into training on your documents.

Calibration donations

If you donate a CV, we parse the file, redact it, and store the redacted text plus rubric results and the outcomes you enter. The original file is not stored. Donations are not shown to other users and are not used to claim that a score guarantees admission. Optional proof files are encrypted and deleted when an operator verifies or rejects the donation. You can delete a donation from the dashboard. The consent text is at /contribute/consent.

Grade-form opt-in

The upload form has a separate checkbox, unchecked unless you check it, and not remembered. If you check it, we store a de-identified copy of that CV and the rubric results for the grade so we can improve scoring-rule accuracy. We do not use that copy to build or improve third-party AI models, we do not show it to other users, and we do not use it in marketing. Checking the box is not required to grade, and it does not add credits. Donating an admission result remains a separate form.

The copy is kept for up to 3 years, or until you withdraw consent from the dashboard, whichever comes first. Withdrawal hard-deletes the de-identified copy and does not delete the grade. The legal basis is your consent under the Taiwan Personal Data Protection Act and GDPR Article 6(1)(a).

  1. I agree that Academic CV Grader may keep a de-identified copy of this CV and the rubric results for that grade, and may use them to improve the accuracy of the scoring rules.
  2. The copy is not used to build or improve third-party AI models, is not shown to other users, and is not used in marketing.
  3. The de-identified copy is kept for up to 3 years, or until I withdraw consent, whichever comes first.
  4. I can withdraw at any time from the dashboard. Withdrawal deletes the de-identified copy and does not delete the grade.
  5. The legal basis is my consent under the Taiwan Personal Data Protection Act and GDPR Article 6(1)(a). This text is a template pending legal review.

Retention

Grade records and extracted text are kept for 12 months or until you delete your account, whichever comes first. You may delete your account from the dashboard; that permanently removes stored CVs, grades, and the login.

Logging

Production logs record identifiers (user id, grade id, domain, score) and parse errors. They do not dump full CV contents to stdout. The hosted site uses Vercel Web Analytics and Speed Insights for page views and performance. They are not an advertising network.

Payments

Card data is handled by Stripe. We store Stripe customer and session identifiers so we can grant credits.
